MAKING THE MOST OF LIFE FROM 50 TO 100+
Sunny Side Up's
ACTIVITY GROUPS
UKULELE GROUP
The Sunnysiders
Have you always wanted to learn the ukulele but never quite got round to it? If so, you can now live your dream! Everyone in our group, The Sunnysiders which has grown considerably since we took this picture (see Events page), started as a complete beginner last year- and so did our volunteer teachers some years ago (read all about them on our Volunteer with Us page). We have great fun and don't take ourselves too seriously - though we try (try being the operative word), to practice as much as we can between sessions as we have hopes of great things for the future! Update: the future is here aleady - see list of upcoming public performances on Events page!
Once you have a few chords under your belt (and you'll learn them surprisingly quickly as there's no need to read music), you'll soon be playing a song or two - simple ones perhaps but recognisable! You can join the group at any time - we'll quickly bring you up to scratch. Tea/coffee and cake are a vital part of the proceedings - in fact of everything Sunny Side Up does!
DATE & TIME
Every Monday morning
10.00am - 12 noon
"You will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines,
sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.
Mark Twain
Our ukulele group, The Sunnysiders, photographed at a performance at Holy Trinity Church, Stratford-upon-Avon where Shakespeare is buried! If you'd like to join the group, email us or call. A warm welcome awaits you - and it's great fun. Ability to read music unnecessary and you can use our ukuleles until you decide if it's for you. It will be!
COMPUTER CLUB
Come along to Sunny Side Up's Computer Club and join the digital age! Our kind, patient, good-humoured volunteers help everyone from total beginners to the more advanced. Learn how to send emails, edit pictures, talk to your family and grandchildren via Skype or Facetime (both free!), buy safely online, develop your hobbies, etc. - all at your own pace.
You'll wonder why you didn't get to grips with computers before when you realise what a fascinating new world the internet reveals. Bring your own laptop or tablet or try ours before you buy. Tea/coffee and cake are always available to help you along the way!
DATE & TIME
Every Thursday afternoon
2pm - 4pm
Of course, if you've got this far, you're probably not a beginner! But if you have a family member, neighbour or friend who might benefit, please draw this group to their attention - and don't forget, we're ready to help anyone, beginner or not.

I received a warm welcome at Tyler Street on Thursday after a long absence through illness and we magically picked up where we had left off 3 months ago. I have learned such a huge amount in this group and gained enough confidence to order a new laptop and extend my horizons for its creative usage. Thank you so much for your expertise. patience and ongoing support. It is much appreciated.
